The 1st written reference to Scotch Whisky is the Exchequer Roll of 1494 naming Friar John Cor, a Lindores monk ordered by James IV to turn 8 bolls of malt into Aqua Vitae.
In July spirit will flow again at Lindores Abbey in a new distillery & an atmospheric visitor centre will provide experiential links to history & distillation. Lindores has hosted royalty & warriors & The Talisman is based upon the Abbey's founder.
The Cloister with its 16m candlelit banqueting table is the perfect place for private dinners & there are many unique entertaining spaces including tables in the Still House for die hard whisky fans wishing to dine at the heart.
More than a distillery it is a place of pilgrimage!
