Back To PR The Real Mary King's Close
The Real Mary King’s Close is a time capsule of streets beneath the Royal Mile. These streets were once open to the skies and formed part of Edinburgh’s bustling centre. Whilst on a tour at The Real Mary King’s Close, guests can get under the skin of the plague, learn why it was wise to avoid the streets at 7am and 10pm and discover how all social classes lived together stacked on top of each other in tenements that are said to have been the world’s first skyscrapers. Hear the stories of the real people who lived, worked and even died on these streets between the 16th and 20th centuries.
